Our Commitment

What We Do

Lighthouse Neuropsychology is the trusted authority and first choice for neuropsychological evaluations and family advocacy in Athens and Northeast Georgia.  We provide comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations that include clinical interviews, psychological and behavioral tests, and questionnaires or rating scales for both clients and their families.

Our Story

After almost a decade of serving Athens-area individuals and families through her clinic Athens Concussion & Neuropsychology Center, Dr. Kate Finley identified a growing need for expert neuropsychological evaluations focusing on neurodiversity:  meeting with families in a therapeutic environment to discuss challenges, addressing the overwhelming feeling many parents have when they don’t know what to do or where to turn, and delivering evaluations that focus on brain functioning, family dynamics, mutual understanding  a clear path for treatment.

Mission

At Lighthouse Neuropsychology, we are dedicated to empowering families through comprehensive evaluations and extensive time with our neuropsychologist.  We understand the challenges many people and families face and are here to guide you with empathy and support as you navigate assessments, interventions, accommodations and documentation for your child or yourself.

Core Values

We believe in the power of neurodiversity and the importance of family or partner/friend involvement.  our approach is anchored in scientific validation, insight and education, and a commitment to creating a clear path forward for every client.

Approach

We have framed our approach as the BRIGHT path, a clear, compassionate framework that guides every evaluation. Each step in the BRIGHT Path reflects how we approach your care — with understanding, structure, and optimism.

Qualifications and Training

Dr. Finley has been practicing neuropsychology in Athens since 2012.  She worked at a neurology practice for four years and then started her own practice, Athens Concussion & Neuropsychology Center, to focus on neuropsychological services and operate in a way that deliver direct, comprehensive services to the community.  Dr. Finley  earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Vassar College in New York. She then earned her PhD in the Neuropsychology subprogram of the Clinical Psychology program at City University of New York in Queens, NY, participating in hands-on training in neuropsychology in hospitals throughout New York City. Her clinical psychology internship was completed at New York University’s Rusk Institute for Rehabilitation, and her two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology was completed at Emory University School of Medicine.
